ALBERTA GOVERNMENT TO "MATCH" DONATIONS
The Alberta government has announced a new program whereby they will match individual grants in order to encourage donations to charities in the province.
The Community Spirit Program can give charities up to $25,000 in matching grants for one year.
Any registered charity in Alberta that has received a cash donation from an individual may apply for what the government is calling a “proportional donation grant” from the Government of Alberta.
Money from corporations, government, membership fees or service clubs is not eligible.
The money can be used to fund operating costs, programs and even capital projects.
Deadline for application in Alberta is October 1st every year. The program is aimed at encouraging individual donations within the province.
Alberta Guide Dog Services was registered in Alberta as an Extra-Provincial Corporation in 2002 and is eligible for this program. Thanks so much for your support!
