Fulltime position
Assistance with Work Visa and relocation

BC Guide Dog Services, a Canadian registered charity, providing service to blind and visually impaired Canadians resident in the western Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.  In the province of Alberta, we conduct business under the trademark of Alberta Guide Dog Services.  Guide dogs are provided to blind youths (13-18) and adults. 

BC Guide Dog Services has offices in Delta, B.C. and Calgary, Alberta.

Working in conjunction with our sister agency, Autism Support Dogs, all GDMIs have the opportunity to become duel qualified as an Autism Support Dog Instructor.  Duel qualification is undertaken in-house.  Autism Support Dogs are provided to children with moderate to severe autism (aged four to ten).

Our Training Department currently consists of two GDMIs, one 3rd year apprentice and two 1st year apprentices.  Qualified GDMIs are normally required to work with a string of 3 dogs in training and on occasion, four.  We pride ourselves in producing a well-finished team supported by a highly personalized training and aftercare program.
